Why is sleep comfort spoiled in an RV that is out of level?

When the bed surface is tilted the body uses muscle all night to stay in place; when the head is lower, blood pressure in the head area rises and reflux complaints are triggered. Doors and drawers also open by themselves, and even slight slopes turn into a source of noise that repeats through the night.

Slope has three separate effects on sleep comfort.

Physiological: in a bed where the head end is lower, blood pressure shifts to the upper body; stomach contents are pushed towards the oesophagus. To stop itself sliding, the body keeps the leg and trunk muscles slightly tensed all the time, which causes morning fatigue.

Mechanical: hinged cupboard doors, the toilet door and drawers either open by themselves or will not stay shut, depending on the direction of the slope. Objects rolling around make noise through the night.

Systemic: the same slope applies to the fridge, the grey water drain and the tank level sensors as well; the loss of comfort does not come alone, it comes together with the plumbing.

The KTS200 measures on two axes and corrects the front-rear axis in one stage and the left-right axis in another; these two axes are exactly the ones that determine the feeling of sliding in bed. In the fine stage the system goes down to 0,025 degrees, a deviation too small to notice by eye. On long stays, Wind Mode helps hold the position against the jolts that occur during the night.
