When are wind mode and fine mode used on the KTS200?
The KTS200 has four operating modes: Automatic, Manual, Wind Mode and Fine Mode. Wind Mode is there to stop the system taking temporary deviations for real slope and trying to correct them constantly in conditions where the vehicle is swaying continuously due to wind or internal movement. Fine Mode, on the other hand, is the mode that goes down to 0,025° precision with micro corrections and gives the most stable result.
The situations in which Wind Mode is useful:
- On open, windy campsites, if the RV body is being pushed laterally all the time.
- If the vehicle sways noticeably when people move about inside.
- When the awning is out or the side surface is set perpendicular to the wind.
In these conditions the inclination sensor sees continually changing values. Wind Mode prevents these temporary swings from turning into correction commands, and so stops the legs running needlessly all the time and draining the battery.
Fine Mode, by contrast, is preferred in these situations:
- If you use an absorption fridge; in this type of fridge the slope tolerance is narrower than in a compressor one and being level is a matter of equipment life.
- On long stays, when door and drawer alignment and water drainage become important.
- In applications that will stay in the same position for a long time, such as a fixed cabin or a tiny house.
Think of the two modes together: level first with Fine Mode for a stable result, and if conditions are windy, use Wind Mode to stop the system making needless corrections. The mode is selected from the free web application connected over Bluetooth; you do not need to download a separate store app.
