Monoblock Valve
A monoblock valve is a valve block in which all work sections are machined into a single casting. Because there are no seals between sections, the risk of external leakage is low and the cost is lower than a sectional design. In return, sections cannot be added or removed later.
Being a single body is a structural advantage: since internal passages are cast into the body, the bodies cannot separate from each other even at high pressure, and problems such as loosening tie bolts do not occur. Monoblock valves with 2–6 sections are common on mobile equipment.
- Where it is preferred: series-produced machines whose number of work sections is known from the start.
- Limitation: if one section fails, the whole block is usually replaced.
- Expansion: if you want to add a new motion, a second valve and separate supply are required.
When planning a retrofit kit this distinction has a practical consequence: on a monoblock valve the levers sit close together and in line. If you want to bring more than one lever on the same valve under electronic control, you must physically verify whether the motors will fit side by side and whether the mounting clamps interfere.
