ID / Address Code
A numeric code that uniquely identifies each transmitter-receiver pair. The transmitter broadcasts this code in every frame, and the receiver only processes frames matching the code in its memory. Preventing sets that share the same band from triggering each other, and blocking unauthorised use, rests on this mechanism.
The ID code is the most basic filter of a wireless remote control. For the receiver to execute a command, two conditions must be met together: the frame must pass the integrity check and the ID code must be recognised. If either one fails, the frame is silently discarded.
The practical consequences of this:
- Many sets on site: dozens of sets can operate in the same band at the same facility; each responds only to its own transmitter.
- Backup: a spare remote control can be created by teaching a second transmitter to the same receiver.
- Security: IEC 62745 explicitly addresses the prevention of unauthorised use and serial data integrity in cableless control systems; unique identification is the answer to those requirements.
The code length, the production method and whether encryption is used are not stated in the AXI product data; for these details, see the technical specifications on the product page and the user manual. As long as a lost transmitter's code remains in the receiver memory, that transmitter can operate the machine; reviewing the memory in case of loss is therefore a security step.
