Pairing is the registration procedure that determines which transmitter a receiver will accept commands from. The general sequence is: the receiver is powered up, the pairing button on it is held down, and the transmitter is switched on while it is held. Why is pairing necessary?

More than one remote can operate in the same area. Pairing ensures that each receiver accepts commands only from its own transmitter. This is both an operational requirement and a safety measure: the wrong remote is prevented from moving the crane. During installation, each receiver-transmitter pair must be given a unique address, and that list must be recorded.

A large share of what looks like lost pairing is actually a weak battery. Testing the transmitter right next to the receiver lets you make this distinction quickly: if it works up close but not at distance, the problem is not pairing but signal strength.

Commissioning checklist

  1. Try every motion one by one without connecting a load.
  2. Verify that each button produces the expected motion.
  3. Test the emergency stop function with the load suspended.
  4. Switch the remote off: motion must stop within a few seconds (passive stop).
  5. Remove and reinsert the battery: no output may activate on its own.
  6. Check the range from the farthest point of the site; the machine must stop when it goes out of range, and must not restart on its own when it comes back in range.
