Freight Collect Shipment

This is a shipping method in which the transport charge is collected not from the sender but from the party receiving the shipment. In return and service shipments, who the charge belongs to is determined separately; in returns arising from defective, incomplete or incorrect delivery, the cost belongs to the seller.

This form of shipment determines who bears the transport charge and does not by itself create a right or a responsibility. Who pays changes according to the reason for the return shipment.

The mistake most often made in practice is sending a freight collect shipment without obtaining prior approval; a package sent with a carrier that has no agreement in place or without a reference code may not be accepted and the process drags on. The right way is to submit your request in writing before the return shipment and obtain the return or service reference code. Who the cost belongs to is determined according to the return and sales agreement conditions on your order page.
