Free Shipping Threshold
The threshold above which no shipping charge is taken once the cart total passes a certain limit. The threshold and the standard shipping charge are set by a store setting and may change with campaigns; the current value and the amount remaining to the threshold are shown live in the cart summary.
The threshold calculation is usually made on the subtotal of the product items; the shipping charge itself is not included in that total. The cart screen shows the remaining amount if you are below the threshold, and shows the shipping line zeroed out if you are above it.
- The threshold applies per cart; splitting an order in two usually increases the total shipping cost.
- For bulky or palletised shipments, transport may be assessed separately.
- If the cart total drops below the threshold after a partial return, how the shipping charge is handled depends on the return terms.
With industrial control products, gathering the items that will be used together into a single order reduces both the transport cost and the risk of missing parts: a set arriving in the same shipment prevents the part you will be looking for on commissioning day from being stuck in transit. The threshold and shipping charge are settings that can be changed from the panel; the binding value is the amount shown in your cart summary when you place the order.
