How much command latency is there, and is it noticeable at the hydraulic lever?
On the HCT400 and HCT402, a joystick command is applied to the lever in under 1 second. In practice the inertia of the hydraulic side (pump flow rate, hose length, oil viscosity and cylinder volume) is usually more decisive than the electronic delay; with cold oil the lever responds more slowly regardless of electronic latency.
In a wireless control chain, latency comes from three layers: joystick reading and transmission, the motor driving the lever, and the hydraulic system responding to that lever movement.
Electronic layer: on both models the command is applied in under 1 second. The HCT402's Dynamic Mode is designed for sharp, fast response; Soft Mode deliberately smooths the command to reduce jerk. So part of the perceived "delay" is an intentional character choice.
Hydraulic layer: this is usually the dominant one. Cold, viscous oil, a long hose run, large cylinder volume and low pump flow rate all increase the delay between lever position and the start of the work. This delay does not belong to the kit, and the kit does not change it.
The practical takeaway for the operator: for precision work, use the middle region of the joystick in Soft Mode; thanks to the parabolic characteristic the middle region is millimetric while the end regions are high speed. For fast transport movements, Dynamic Mode gives a more direct feel.
