Which signal does the CM1405 use to fold and unfold the mirrors?
Folding is triggered by the vehicle's ignition and door lock signal: when the ignition is switched off or the vehicle is locked the mirrors fold, and when the vehicle is unlocked they unfold. The system is signal-wire based and works over the 12V DC vehicle line; control is done from the existing in-vehicle switches.
The trigger logic is simple: the system listens to two status signals the vehicle already produces.
- Ignition signal: switching off the ignition indicates the state of leaving the vehicle; the mirrors fold.
- Door lock signal: when the vehicle is locked with the remote, folding is triggered; when it is unlocked the mirrors unfold.
The practical consequence of this structure is that the correct trigger point must be found on the vehicle. During installation the folding and heating lines are connected to the vehicle's supply and trigger points; the wiring diagram supplied with the kit is the reference for this stage.
Vehicles with CAN architecture: the product is not defined as a module communicating over the CAN data bus; its working principle is signal-wire based. In vehicles where lock and ignition status are managed over a data bus, the suitable signal pick-up point must be determined by a vehicle electrician.
