Which RV types does the KTS200 fit?
The KTS200 is designed for towed caravans, motorhomes and tiny house applications. What matters is not the brand or model but three conditions: a 12V DC supply, the presence of solid chassis points where 4 D3501-1142 legs can be bolted, and a load capacity of 2000 kg per leg being sufficient for the RV's load distribution.
The system is selected not by a particular RV brand but by chassis type. Check these headings when assessing compatibility:
- Supply: the legs run on 12V DC. On a vehicle with a 24V system a suitable conversion must be planned.
- Mounting point: all 4 legs must be attached to a chassis member able to carry the load, or to reinforced points specified by the manufacturer. If there is no suitable point, consult your RV manufacturer or a qualified project engineer.
- Capacity: each leg has a load capacity of 2000 kg. This value does not mean the entire RV can be lifted into the air; the legs carry a portion of the weight.
- Layout: a suitable place must be found inside for the ASX103 levelling brain and the GRV485 control unit.
On a towed caravan the position of the front and rear legs affects the weight distribution, since the tow hitch load calculation may also change. On a motorhome it must be checked that the legs do not obstruct the exhaust, fuel tank and water tank routing. In every case the basic rule is not to lift all the wheels off the ground and to use chocks.
