What exactly is IP67 resistant to, does the kit work in rain and mud?

According to IEC 60529, in IP67 the first digit 6 means complete protection against dust ingress, and the second digit 7 means resistance to temporary immersion at 1 metre depth for 30 minutes. It does not mean continuous immersion or high-pressure water jets. An important distinction: the IP67 statement applies to the metal button on the GS740 and to the connectorised harness on the GS740-3P; an IP rating for the servo housing is not stated in the product data.

Read the IP code piece by piece:

The practical outcome in the field: rain, mud splashes and a dusty environment are not a problem for the button and connectors declared as IP67. However, no IP rating is declared for the kit as a whole; in particular the protection class of the servo housing does not appear in the product data.

For that reason choose a mounting position that will not sit under standing water and will not be exposed to a direct pressure washing jet; place the connectors facing downwards and leave a drip loop in the cable. Always seat IP67 connectors fully by turning them; a half-seated connector gives neither dust nor water protection.
