What exactly does the CM1405 Fully Automatic Mirror Kit do?
The CM1405 is a retrofit kit that converts a manual exterior mirror into an automatically folding and heated electronic mirror. It has two functions: automatic folding and unfolding of the mirrors with the ignition or door lock signal, and clearing mist and icing with the heating on the mirror glass. It works over a 12V DC line compatible with the vehicle electrical system.
The kit is a complete retrofit kit fitted in place of the existing manual mirror body; it comes with a mechanical and connector structure compatible with the mirror housing.
Two basic functions:
- Automatic folding: when the ignition is switched off or the vehicle is locked the mirrors fold, and they unfold again on unlocking. It reduces the risk of the mirror being hit in narrow car parks and street parking.
- Mirror heating: the heating module on the glass clears the mist and thin icing that form in cold weather; on winter mornings it quickly restores the rear view.
Control is done via the existing in-vehicle switches; no separate control panel is needed.
Important: the product does not have an automatic dimming function; this statement, which appears in some English product texts, is incorrect. Likewise, functions such as blind spot warning and CAN data bus integration are not defined within the scope of the product.
