What should I do if the speed setting drifts because of vibration?
The source of the drift is usually mechanical rather than electronic: a loosening cable clamp, a moving servo bracket or an unfixed sheath. The GS740-3P takes its position feedback with a contactless AS5600 magnetic encoder; because there is no rubbing contact, the position measurement is more stable under dust and vibration than in potentiometer-based solutions. For this reason the drift should first be looked for on the cable and mounting side.
Check in order:
- Cable end: the tightness of the clamp attached to the throttle lever. A clamp that slips with vibration gives a different speed at the same potentiometer position.
- Sheath fixing: the outer sheath must be fixed at both ends. If the sheath moves, the movement of the inner wire is not fully transferred to the butterfly. Use the cable guides and cable ties supplied with the kit.
- Servo bracket: mount the body on the chassis or on a solid carrier, with a vibration-isolating mount where possible. Brackets made of thin sheet metal crack over time.
- Potentiometer cable: do not run it parallel to charging and ignition cables; because the signal terminal is read ratiometrically over 0-3.3V, noise looks like the speed wandering.
After correcting the mechanical side, clear the memory on the GS740-3P and teach the upper limit again; that way the potentiometer range is redistributed according to the current cable position.
