Should I supply the receiver with 12V DC or 220V AC?
The LF100R receiver can be supplied with 12/24V DC or 220V AC; this flexibility applies to the ST100 and SF100 sets. For the SF200's LT200R receiver, 12/24V DC is stated. If a 24V DC control voltage is already available in your panel, DC supply is safer; if you only have mains, the 220V AC option removes the need for an additional power supply.
The choice is determined by which voltage is already present in your panel and how the machine is supplied.
- 12/24V DC: the natural choice on DC systems such as vehicle-mounted cranes, battery-powered platforms and agricultural machinery. Because the control voltage is low, there is little risk on contact during servicing. If a 24V DC control voltage is already generated inside the panel, supplying the receiver from the same line simplifies the wiring.
- 220V AC: removes the need for an additional power supply in fixed installation panels. On the other hand, mains voltage is present at the receiver terminals; discipline in isolating the power during servicing is essential.
In both cases fit a fuse of suitable rating in the supply line and feed the receiver from the control line, not from the motor power line. The voltage dip that occurs during motor starts can reset a receiver supplied from the same line.
The supply voltage range is not stated in the ST200 records. Do not carry the 12/24V DC - 220V AC figure given for the ST100 and SF100 over to the ST200; on an ST200 installation, confirm the supply value from the user manual.
