Can ROBEG be used on sloped roofs and tilted panel arrays?
ROBEG's target applications include ground-mounted plants, industrial rooftop plants, agricultural-area plants and sloped roof panels. On a sloped surface it advances with special non-slip wheels and a precise grip algorithm. The maximum supported slope angle is not a published value; site slope is assessed project by project.
Two issues stand out on tilted arrays: grip and operator safety.
- Grip: ROBEG uses special non-slip wheels and a precise grip algorithm developed for sloped surfaces; high-torque dual DC motors provide the traction force, and a structure that leaves no brake drag prevents unnecessary friction.
- Safety: the fundamental risk of cleaning on a roof is falling. Cleaning with a robot reduces the need for the operator to climb onto the panel; this also lowers the microcrack risk, because a footprint is a point load and panel certification is done according to distributed load.
On the other hand, we do not commit to a slope limit in degrees; this value is not present in the product data. Roof slope, gaps between panels, frame height and row transitions are site-specific. Because placing the robot on the array and taking it off is an operator task, the roof access plan must also be set up in advance. For site suitability, request a technical assessment.
