How should clamping and fixing be done when installing the retrofit kit?
The HCT400 and HCT402 sets come with a complete mounting kit (clamps and fixing parts) in the box. The servo motor is attached to the top of the lever externally; there is no intervention in the hydraulic circuit, the hose, or the valve. Since the HC400 motor body is 165 x 90 x 40 mm and 650 g, the fixing point must be a rigid surface able to carry this weight under vibration.
The entire installation is mechanical: the motor moves the lever externally, from above. No hydraulic line is opened, no oil is drained, no valve is removed.
For a sound installation, in order:
- Choose the point on the body where the motor will sit. Prefer a rigid surface such as the chassis/body rather than a sheet panel or thin housing; the 650 g motor acts as a lever under vibration.
- Seat the clamp on the lever so that it does not obstruct the lever's free movement. Clamp slippage ruins the calibration.
- Check the alignment of the motor shaft with the lever axis. An angled connection increases radial torque and causes the lever to catch at the end.
- Route the cables so that they do not enter the lever's path of motion and do not touch hot surfaces or sharp sheet metal edges.
- After installation is complete, perform the calibration, then test end to end with no load.
A digital wiring diagram and manual are supplied with the set; since lever type and vehicle vary, the fixing point should be assessed with photographs before installation. The IP67 body is fully protected against dust; after installation, make sure the connectors are fully seated.
