Why is the remote refusing commands while charging a safety design?

The HCT402's wireless joystick accepts no control commands while charging. This is deliberate: a remote on charge is usually not in the operator's hand but sitting in the cab or a bag, and an accidentally pressed joystick could start hydraulic movement anywhere within the 100 meter range. Charging is done via the AXI-Link cable and a standard USB source.

A remote on charge is by definition an unattended device. It sits on the cab seat, in a toolbox or on a shelf. In that state, a tool falling onto the joystick or the device being pressed against a surface could generate a command.

The design cuts this off at the source: while the charging cable is connected, the control path is closed. As a result:

The practical consequence: do not perform pairing and calibration with the charging cable connected. The system will reject the command, so the procedure will be left incomplete and look like a fault.

Charging status is monitored via the LED: flashing red means low battery or charging, blue mid level, flashing green nearly full, and steady green 100%. Charging uses the AXI-Link three-pin industrial connector and a standard USB source.
