How is the remote control paired with the motor, and at what range does it work?
On the HCT402, remote-to-motor pairing is the third step of the three-stage calibration and must be performed within 50 meters. Once pairing is complete, normal operating range extends up to 100 meters in open terrain with line of sight. Communication runs on the 2.4 GHz band using AXI's proprietary encrypted XRF protocol.
Pairing makes the joystick and the servo motor share the same session. This prevents another remote control on the same site from commanding your motor.
Points to observe:
- Perform pairing within 50 m. Pairing done at the edge of range can be left incomplete.
- During the procedure, motor supply must be on and the remote battery sufficiently charged. The HCT402 does not allow motion control at critical battery level.
- The HCT402 accepts no commands while charging; do not attempt pairing with the charging cable connected.
- After pairing, verify by testing the joystick on both axes with no load.
Once pairing is complete, operating range is up to 100 meters in open terrain with line of sight. Steel structures, concrete walls or a vehicle body in between reduce this figure. If the signal is lost the system does not wait: within 250 ms the motor returns to the safe center position and oil flow stops. On the HCT402, connection and battery status are indicated by LED and buzzer.
