How should I store the remote control if I will not use it for a long time?
Store rechargeable (Li-Po) remote controls at 40-60% charge, between -20 and +25 degrees, in a dry and locked place; check and top up the charge level every few months. On battery-powered remote controls, remove the AAA cells to prevent terminal corrosion from leakage. In both cases store the device switched off.
Long-term storage carries two different risks: battery degradation and unauthorised use.
ST100 / ST200 (Li-Po rechargeable LT200 remote control):
- Storage charge level 40-60%. Leaving it fully charged accelerates cell ageing; leaving it fully empty causes deep discharge damage.
- Storage temperature -20…+25 °C. Do not leave it in a vehicle or in a store room that gets hot.
- Check every few months and top up the charge level.
- Keep the AXI-Link charging connector dry and clean; if there is a dust cap, leave it fitted.
SF100 / SF200 (LF200 remote control with 3×AAA cells):
- Remove the cells. An alkaline cell left in its compartment for a long time can leak and corrode the terminals; this is irreversible damage.
- Store the cells separately in a dry box. Alkaline shelf life is long and field spares are available everywhere.
In both cases: switch the device off and store it in a dry, dust-free place, preferably in a locked cabinet. Preventing unauthorised use is an explicit heading in wireless remote control safety. When commissioning after a long break, check the button response and the pairing with the machine de-energised.
