Does a cable come with the LFT20 or LFT54 kit?
No, neither kit includes a cable; the tractor's existing Lift-O-Matik cable is used. The LFT20 set consists of 1 main unit, 2 supply wires, 1 illuminated switch with connector and digital documentation. The LFT54 set includes the galvanised main unit, the embedded watertight control board, supply wires, a control signal wire, a cable entry socket and a guide.
The reason the cable is left out of the kit is that cable length, sheath routing and end fitting type differ on every tractor. The factory cable is already made to suit the mechanism; the kit only takes over its outer end.
Before mounting, check the cable for the following:
- Broken strands: If any wire strands have opened up, replace the cable.
- Sheath damage: A crushed or cracked sheath increases friction; the required pulling force may exceed the 10 kg limit for the LFT20 and the 15 kg limit for the LFT54.
- Rust and drying out: Clean the cable and free it up with a suitable lubricant.
- End fitting: It must be in a condition that can be fitted into the kit's cable entry socket; use a suitable cable end if necessary.
If the cable needs replacing, use one matching the tractor's original part number. The kit does not change the pull travel of the cable; the LFT20 provides 60 mm and the LFT54 50 mm of movement.
