How many engines can one kit control, and what is needed for three engines?
The GS740 is for a single engine: it contains one cable-pull servo and one potentiometer. If three engines need to be controlled separately, the GS740-3P is used; it contains 3 servos, 2 metres of IP67 socketed wiring per channel and 3 potentiometer leads. There is no communication between the channels, each engine works completely independently.
One servo drives one throttle lever; therefore the number of channels directly determines the number of engines.
- Single engine: GS740. One servo, one precision potentiometer, IP67 button.
- Two or three engines: GS740-3P. Three independent servos, three wiring sets, one potentiometer input per channel. It is not compulsory to use all three channels.
On the GS740-3P the channels are independent of each other and there is no communication between them. The practical consequence is this: if one channel fails the others keep working, but the channels do not automatically synchronise with each other. If they are required to run at the same speed, the potentiometers are matched by the operator and each channel moves according to its own calibration.
Driving three servos together with a single potentiometer is not a factory configuration; if there is such a need, state the application from the outset. It is also possible to use GS740 kits side by side to increase the number of channels, but in that case each kit has its own button and its own memory; a single common control point is not obtained.
