How does automatic levelling work step by step on the KTS200?
The KTS200's automatic levelling has four stages: first the legs come down one by one in turn and detect ground contact, then the front-rear slope is corrected, then the left-right slope is corrected, and finally fine levelling is done with micro corrections down to 0,025° precision. The slope is measured by the two-axis sensor in the ASX103 brain, and the movement is managed by the GRV485 control unit.
The system is started with a single button and follows this order:
- Ground contact: the four legs come down one by one, in turn, starting from the lowest position. The moment each leg touches the ground is detected by a sensing algorithm. Bringing the legs down in turn rather than all at once allows the moment of contact to be read clearly.
- Front-rear slope correction: the vehicle is levelled lengthwise according to the data from the ASX103's longitudinal axis.
- Left-right slope correction: the lateral slope is removed via the transverse axis.
- Fine levelling: with small-step micro corrections the system goes down to 0,025° precision.
Throughout the process the spirit level symbol and the numerical degree value are shown live in the application, so you can follow which stage you are in. At any moment all movement can be cut instantly with Emergency Stop.
Important safety rule: levelling is not the operation of lifting the RV into the air. Do not lift all the wheels off the ground and do not use the legs in place of the parking brake or chocks; chocks must be fitted in every circumstance.
