How is the memory erased on the GS740-3P, and when should it be erased?
Cut the power and wait about 5 seconds; connect the blue wire to GND first, then apply power. About 8 seconds after power-up the memory is completely erased and the motor makes its movement, after which you release the blue wire. Erasing is done when the cable has slipped, when the cable has been replaced, or when the calibration has been lost; afterwards the upper limit must be taught again.
Erase procedure (the order matters):
- Cut power to the system and wait about 5 seconds.
- Connect the blue wire to GND (black/chassis) first.
- Then apply power.
- About 8 seconds after power-up the memory is completely erased and the motor makes its movement.
- Release the blue wire.
If the order is changed (power first, blue wire afterwards) the operation is interpreted not as erasing but as teaching the upper limit; so do not skip the steps.
When you should erase:
- When the cable has slipped or the attachment point has changed.
- When the cable has been renewed or its route changed.
- When the calibration has been lost, that is when the upper part of the potentiometer has become useless or the upper speed cannot be reached.
- When the servo has been moved to another engine.
After erasing, the system is in an uncalibrated state; before starting to use it, the upper limit must be taught again with the blue wire procedure. Do the operation separately for each channel; because there is no communication between channels, erasing the memory of one channel does not affect the others.
