What are the differences between the GS740 and the GS740-3P, and which should I choose?
The GS740 is single-channel: it includes one cable-pull servo, one precision potentiometer and an IP67 metal button; holding the button for 3 seconds stores the working speed, and a short press switches between idle and the working speed. The GS740-3P comes with three independent servos and three 2 metre IP67 connectorised harnesses, has no button, is calibrated with the blue wire, and its position feedback is by an AS5600 encoder.
The choice follows from the number of engines to be controlled and the way they are used.
GS740
- One engine, one cable-pull servo.
- Stepless speed adjustment with a precision potentiometer.
- IP67 metal button: holding it for 3 seconds stores the working speed, a short press switches instantly between idle and the stored speed.
- Practical in jobs where you drop to idle and back frequently (tractor, irrigation pump, construction machine).
GS740-3P
- Three servos and three harnesses for three independent engines; there is no communication between channels, each engine works fully independently.
- One potentiometer per channel, 0–3.3V proportional input.
- There is no button and no idle/working switching; the upper limit is taught in about 8 seconds by briefly touching the blue wire to GND.
- Closed-loop P control and soft ramp with an AS5600 12-bit contactless encoder.
- Current limit approximately 7A from the factory (configurable between 3.5–10A), independent watchdog of about 2 seconds.
- 2 metres of ready-made IP67 connectorised harness per channel.
Both products work on 12V/24V DC and carry a 36-month warranty. The IP67 declaration applies not to the whole kit but to the button on the GS740 and to the connector on the GS740-3P.
