Are prices VAT inclusive, and how is the cart total calculated?
Product prices are shown excluding VAT; the applicable VAT rate is 20% and it is added as a separate line in the cart summary. The cart total is the sum of the product subtotal, VAT and, if any, the shipping charge. Before payment, the final amount to be charged is shown item by item in the cart summary.
The cart summary consists of these lines:
- Subtotal: the tax-free amount of the selected products with the quantity multiplier applied.
- VAT: the rate in force, 20%, applied to the subtotal.
- Shipping: calculated according to the cart amount; for carts above the free shipping threshold this line is zeroed.
- Grand total: the final amount to be charged at the payment step.
Under the pre-contractual information rules of the Distance Contracts Regulation, the total price including taxes and delivery costs is shown to you before you confirm the order. No extra cost is added afterwards on top of the amount you see on the confirmation screen.
If the VAT rate is updated by a change in legislation, the cart calculation automatically works according to the new rate. In corporate purchases your invoice is issued according to the company name and tax details you entered during the order; for detailed information use the contact page.
