Tractor Hydraulic Working Pressure

The maximum pressure, limited by the relief valve, in the hydraulic circuit that feeds the hitch and the auxiliary outlets. On tractors it is typically in the 180–220 bar range; in the 60–100 HP class the pump flow is typically on the order of 60–90 L/min. Pressure determines lifting force, flow determines lifting speed.

Separating these two values is very useful in the field. If the hitch cannot lift heavy equipment at all, the problem is on the pressure side: relief valve setting, a tired pump, or internal leakage. If the hitch lifts but rises very slowly, the problem is on the flow side: low engine speed, a clogged filter, or shared functions.

Electronic retrofit kits do not touch this circuit at all. LFT20, LFT54 and ELF-812 work on the control side; pressure and flow come from the tractor's own hydraulics. For a lift performance problem, measure the hydraulics first, not the kit.
