Push-Button Transmitter

A remote control interface that drives each channel on/off with a separate button. It sets not the speed of the motion but only the direction and the run state; a bidirectional single motion generally consumes a pair of buttons, that is two channels. AXI's ST and SF series remote controls work with this on/off logic.

In a push-button interface one channel falls to each button and the channel is either pulled in or not. There is no intermediate step: the motor is either being supplied or stopped. If you want speed steps, that is solved not by the remote control but by the power circuit; low speed and high speed mean separate contactors, and therefore separate channels.

The practical channel count works out like this:

One advantage of the button is the short learning time: once the operator has learned which button gives which motion, the margin for error is low. For that reason writing the motion labels permanently onto the buttons should be counted as part of the commissioning work. Details such as the number of buttons, the display and a second speed step are not included in the product data; confirm them from the user manual.
