Pulse Output
An output form in which, when a command is received, the relay pulls in only for a short time and releases by itself. The start inputs of gate, barrier and automation panels that have their own control board are driven with this type of trigger; the panel manages the rest of the motion with its own logic.
What matters in a pulse output is not the duration of the command but its edge. When the panel sees a short closure at its input it starts its own cycle: it opens the gate, stops when fully open, and closes it at the end of the waiting time. There is no need for the remote control to give a command throughout this process.
This structure brings two questions with it:
- Pulse duration match: the minimum trigger duration the panel recognises and the pulse duration given to the relay must overlap. Too short a pulse is not detected, too long a pulse may trigger a different function on some panels (for example permanently open mode).
- Dry contact requirement: panel start inputs generally expect a dry contact; the receiver's relay output meets this need directly.
A pulse output is not suitable for crane motions: it is the other side, not the remote control, that decides when the motion will stop. In lifting, momentary operation that preserves the operator's instantaneous intent is essential.
In gate and barrier applications a 2-channel set is generally sufficient; one channel is the open/close trigger, the second channel is reserved for a lock or an auxiliary function.
