Panel-Mount Receiver
It is the receiver type designed to be mounted inside a dry and protected electrical panel. Its own housing makes no sealing claim; the protection class is provided by the panel itself. AXI's LF100R receiver is of this type and is used with a 2×10A relay output in the ST100 2-channel and SF100 sets.
The advantage of a panel-mount receiver is cost and ease of access: the wiring is done in the panel anyway, the terminals are exposed, and taking measurements during fault finding is easy. The price shows up at two points.
- Responsibility for protection passes to you: the panel's IP class, cover gasket and cable entries determine the environment the receiver is exposed to. If the panel is outdoors, maintenance of the gaskets directly affects the receiver's life.
- The antenna must definitely be brought outside: a metal panel acts like a Faraday cage, and leaving the antenna inside seriously reduces the range.
In terms of layout, place the receiver as far as possible from the inverter, the contactor group and the motor cable, in a part of the panel where heat does not build up. Leave at least about 20 cm between the power cables and the receiver's control leads; make unavoidable crossings at 90 degrees.
The receiver supply on SF100 and ST100 can be 12/24V DC or 220V AC. Providing separate protection (a fuse) for the supply limits the effect of other faults in the panel on the receiver.
