Outdoor Receiver

A receiver type with a sealed housing that can be mounted directly on the machine without needing a panel. AXI's LT200R receiver is in this class: with an IP67 housing, cable gland entry and a gasketed cover it is used in the SF200 set; the receivers of the ST200 sets are also IP67 outdoor type.

The value of an outdoor receiver is that it gathers the protection chain into a single part. It does not require a separate panel, separate gasket maintenance or in-panel heat management. Because it is mounted close to the machine the control cables are also shorter, which reduces noise coupling.

Three decisive points during mounting:

IP67 covers the immersion test, it does not cover the water jet test. For that reason do not clean a receiver with an IP67 housing with a high-pressure wash-down gun; if jet resistance is required, a dual rating declaration is what to look for.

On machines subject to vibration, include the terminal torques and the tightness of the gland in periodic maintenance; a gland that works loose quietly wipes out the protection rating.
