Order Status
The status field showing which stage an order is at. It takes values such as pending, confirmed, preparing, shipped, delivered and cancelled; because status changes are stored on the record, the stage is preserved even if the server restarts.
The status field summarises the order's life cycle in a single field, and both the customer and the operations side look at the same information. The stages move forward; going back only happens through separate transactions such as cancellation or return.
- Pending: payment authorisation or bank transfer matching has not yet been completed.
- Confirmed: payment and stock checks have passed and the order can be taken into preparation.
- Preparing: the product is being packed and the invoice and dispatch documents are being prepared.
- Shipped: a tracking number has been created and the shipment has been handed to the carrier.
You can follow the status from the order page in your account. After the shipped stage, order cancellation is no longer possible and the process runs through the right of withdrawal in consumer transactions. If the status stays pending for a long time, check the payment side first; the card transaction may not have gone through, or the transfer description may be incomplete.
