Multiple Transmitters - Single Receiver
Pairing more than one transmitter to a receiver so that the same machine can be controlled from different handheld units. It is useful for shift continuity and backup, but because two operators can give opposing direction commands at the same time it requires an operational rule of authority.
Since more than one identity code can be held in the receiver's memory, this arrangement is possible in hardware terms. The receiver executes a valid command coming from any recognised transmitter; it does not apply a priority order according to which transmitter sent it.
That is exactly the source of the risk:
- Opposing commands: if one operator gives forward and the other reverse, the contactors are forced into conflict. Electrical and mechanical interlocking becomes vital in this scenario.
- Difference in field of view: two operators see the same load from different angles; one may see the danger while the other continues the motion.
- Uncertain responsibility: if it is unclear who is in charge of the machine at that moment, the reflex to stop is delayed.
The workable rule is this: only one transmitter should be on site at a time, the others kept in a locked cabinet. Handover should be done physically. This arrangement should be planned not as a convenience but as a solution for faults and shift continuity. During pairing, confirm from the user manual whether the existing records are preserved.
