Maintenance Logbook

This is the record in which every check, replacement and fault intervention carried out on the remote control set is written down together with its date. It is not a one-off document but a trend tracking tool: a repeat of the same fault, a shortening shift duration and increasingly frequent gasket changes only become visible through the record.

Without a record every fault looks like an independent event. Only the record shows that terminals have been retightened three times in three months on the same receiver; this points to a mounting problem caused by vibration, and the solution is not to tighten the terminals but to change the mounting.

The record works together with the periodic maintenance list and the function test; the list says what is to be done, the logbook says what was done.
