Lever Adapter Bracket
This is the mechanical intermediate part that fastens the actuator of the electronic retrofit kit to the tractor's existing control lever or body without drilling holes and without removing the original connection. It aligns the force transmission axis with the lever's path; on a misaligned bracket the actuator applies side force and the shaft wears early.
The bracket's job is more critical than it looks: the actuator moves linearly, while the control lever rotates on an arc. The bracket reconciles these two movements by leaving freedom at the connection point (a jointed or slotted pin). If the connection is made completely rigid, a bending moment is applied to the actuator shaft with every movement of the lever.
- Alignment: the push axis is positioned tangential to the lever's arc of movement.
- Removability: a clamp/plate type bracket is preferred; no welding or permanent drilling is done, so the tractor returns to its original state when the kit is removed.
- Vibration: the bolts must be self-locking nuts or fitted with lock washers; on agricultural machinery, vibration loosening is the most common installation fault.
On the LFT20 and LFT54 the bracket is simplified because the mechanical link is made through the cable; the box is screwed to a solid surface and the existing Lift-O-Matic cable is attached to the socket on the kit. On systems that move the lever directly, such as the ELF-812 and the HCT400/HCT402, the bracket directly determines the quality of the force transmission.
