IP67 (Dust-Tight, Resistant to Temporary Immersion)
A protection code combining a dust-tight housing with resistance to temporary immersion at 1 metre depth in still water for 30 minutes. It does not cover the pressurised water jet test. The LT200 remote and the outdoor receiver of the ST200 and SF200 sets are declared with this code.
In the IPX7 test the housing is held in still water at 1 m depth for 30 minutes, with its highest point at least 150 mm below the water surface. At the end of the test no amount of water that would cause damage inside must have entered. This covers scenarios such as the remote falling into a puddle or being left out in the rain.
- Frequent mistake: washing an IP67 housing with a washing gun. The immersion test is in still water; a jet applies high pressure to the seal at a single point, and an IP67 declaration does not cover that.
- Durability: the code is the test result for a new product. A cracked housing after a drop, a hardened seal or a loose cover screw effectively ends the protection.
- In the field: if the remote falls into water, dry the outside and do not put it on charge until the charging connector is completely dry.
For the LT200 remote of the ST100 and ST200 sets and the ST200/SF200 receiver, the value declared in the dump is IP67.
