Intermittent Response Fault
The remote control sometimes transmitting the command and sometimes not. There is no single cause: a weak battery, antenna placement, electromagnetic interference, a loose terminal and an oxidised contact all produce the same symptom. Correct diagnosis is made by eliminating the causes one by one, starting with the cheapest.
The order of elimination is as follows:
- Power: try the remote control with a fully charged battery or new cells. Most complaints that start in winter come from here.
- Distance and orientation: if the problem disappears close to the receiver, the issue is range and placement; move the antenna outside the panel, vertical and a few centimetres away from metal.
- Interference: switch off the inverter and the welding machine and repeat the same test. If there is a difference, move the noise source away and correct the shielding and earthing.
- Wiring: retighten the receiver supply and output terminals, measure the voltage under load, check the connector pins.
- Mechanical: inspect whether the remote control has been dropped, and whether there is a crack in the enclosure or button damage.
Change only one variable at each step and note the result; making several interventions at once hides the cause.
