In-Cab Control Module
This is the electronic unit that evaluates the commands coming from the joystick, the fender switches and the remote control, and drives the actuator. Mode selection, calibration data and travel limits are held in this unit. In the AXI ELF-812 set the module is positioned in the cab and the linear motor on the hydraulic lever.
The module is the part of the system that makes the decisions: it determines which input the command came from, calculates the movement according to the selected mode, and triggers the motor driver. The reason it is placed in the cab is not only access but also that it is less exposed to outdoor loading.
- Placement: it is fixed at a point away from heated surfaces and direct sun, where it will not be kicked and where the wiring harness will not be left taut.
- Vibration: the unit is screwed to a solid surface; the connectors of a module attached to a shaking panel loosen over time.
- Cable direction: cables should enter the module curving downwards, so that water does not travel along the cable into the unit.
On the ELF-812 the module also stores the automatic calibration data; after installation the system learns the lower and upper reference points and the position and precision modes work against that reference. If calibration is lost, the travel limits shift. Since the manufacturer does not declare voltage, current or protection rating for the ELF-812, these values are not attributed to the module.
