Illuminated Switch
This is a control switch whose LED shows whether it is energised. In the dark you can find its position, and in daylight you can see at a glance whether supply is present. The AXI LFT20 set is supplied with one plug-in illuminated switch; this switch drives the motor forward and back to pull the Lift-O-Matic cable.
The light source is an LED and it is generally wired in one of two ways: the type lit from a permanent supply shows where the switch is, while the type lit according to switch position reports that the output is active. This distinction is useful in fault finding.
- LED does not light at all: check supply and fuse first, then socket contact and the chassis connection.
- LED lights but the motor does not turn: supply is present; the problem is most likely on the motor side, in a mechanical jam, or along the cable route.
- LED is dimming: it points to a voltage drop on a thin or loose supply line.
On the LFT20 the switch is plug-in; it is fitted in the field without soldering and removed again if needed. Remember that the LFT20 contains no control board, processor or sensor: the switch triggers the motor movement directly and there is no protection layer on the software side. That is why a bench test before installation and the correct fuse choice are especially important on this product.
