Hydraulic Power Pack
A hydraulic power pack is the supply group that gathers the drive motor, pump, oil tank, relief valve, and filter in a single body. In mobile applications, small units with 12V or 24V DC motors, 1-5 liter tanks, and 150-200 bar settings are common. This group is the circuit's only energy source.
Two quantities determine the size of the unit: the required flow rate and the required pressure. Flow rate gives how fast the actuator will move; pressure gives how much force it will produce. As a rough approximation, the required hydraulic power is found in kW by multiplying pressure in bar by flow rate in l/min and dividing by 600; for 180 bar and 10 l/min this works out to about 3 kW.
- Turnover time: tank volume should be at least half the flow rate per minute so the oil can release its air.
- Duty cycle: small units with DC motors are generally designed for short term operation; they heat up if run continuously.
On the AXI side the power pack is not a product but context. A power pack controlled by a manual lever can be made remotely operable with HCT400 or HCT402, but the unit's pressure, flow rate, and heating behavior stay exactly the same. Even after the kit is fitted, the unit's own relief valve is the system's last line of protection.
