Heated and Power Folding Mirror
The conversion of manual exterior mirrors into mirrors that fold electronically with the door lock or ignition signal and whose surface can be heated. The AXI CM1405 fully automatic mirror set offers this conversion together with an electronic folding mechanism, a mirror heating module and connection hardware compatible with the vehicle's electrics.
Power folding works with a control circuit that detects the locking or starting signal of the vehicle. When the vehicle is locked or the ignition is switched off the mirrors fold in, and on unlocking they unfold automatically. The practical benefit of this is that it reduces impact damage to the mirror housing in narrow streets and car parks; while towing a caravan, the vehicle width that is already wide gets smaller when parked.
The heating function is provided by a resistive element placed behind the mirror glass. When the surface temperature rises the mist clears, a thin layer of ice lifts off and the view becomes clear within a short time. On cold mornings this means being able to get in the vehicle and set off without waiting.
The CM1405 is offered as a complete conversion kit and is compatible with vehicles generally; the set includes the electronic folding mechanism, the heating module and the connection hardware. During installation, taking the mirror supply line from its own fuse, choosing the trigger signal from the correct circuit and routing the cable pass-through so that it is not pinched in the door boot are the three steps that determine the quality of the job.
