Dual IP Rating

Declaring two codes together to show that an enclosure has passed both the water jet and the immersion test; the typical notation is IP66/IP67. In IEC 60529 the second digit is not cumulative: a higher figure does not mean the tests below it are automatically passed.

The first digit (solid objects) is cumulative: an enclosure rated 6 also meets 5. With the second digit the situation is different. IPX5/IPX6 are jet tests, IPX7/IPX8 are immersion tests, and these do not substitute for each other. That is why an enclosure marked only IP67 cannot be assumed to withstand a wash-down gun.

On AXI products the declared values are single codes (IP64 and IP67); since there is no dual rating claim, you have to solve the wash-down scenario outside the remote control.
