CE Marking

A mark showing that the manufacturer declares its product meets the essential requirements of the relevant European Union legislation. It is not a quality grade or an independent approval stamp; it cannot be claimed unless a declaration of conformity and a technical file stand behind it.

The mark is affixed to the product by the manufacturer or the importer and the responsibility is theirs. If a four-digit number is added next to it, this shows that a notified body took part in the conformity assessment; if there is no number, the assessment was carried out under the manufacturer's own control.

When purchasing, the right question is not whether the mark is present but what the declaration contains: which directives and which standards conformity has been declared against. Since no document number is given in the product data for AXI ST and SF sets, request the documents directly from the manufacturer and add them to your machine file.
