Auto-Calibration
The system learning its own movement references after installation without asking the user for values. The actuator performs a controlled sweep and records the end points and the middle reference. Thanks to auto-calibration on the AXI ELF-812, the kit can be adapted to different tractor models in a short time.
In manual calibration the installer shows each limit one by one; in auto-calibration the system carries out the movement itself and takes the points where mechanical resistance increases as the limits. The gain is twofold: installation time is shortened and the setting differences that vary from person to person disappear.
- Precondition: the mechanism must be able to move freely. Calibration carried out while there is slack in the cable, binding in the lever or a seized joint teaches the wrong limits.
- Environment: it is done with no implement attached and with nobody in the movement area.
- Repetition: it is repeated when the bracket position changes, when the mechanism has been worked on, or when the travel range is observed to have shifted.
On the ELF-812 these references form the basis of the position and precision modes; keeping the height you select repeatably in position mode depends on them. Since the manufacturer does not state a numerical depth tolerance for the ELF-812, no accuracy figure in millimetres is claimed.
